Molten Salt Pumps
Wenesco Molten Salt Pumps are custom-engineered for high-temperature molten salt transfer and circulation applications, including molten salt reactors, thermal processing systems, and loop testing operations. These pumps are manufactured for direct mounting into customer-supplied tanks and are designed to provide reliable molten salt flow at operating temperatures up to 700°C.
Temperature-controlled molten salt systems combine a high-temperature pump with a heated 316 stainless steel reservoir that holds 7.5 gallons (approximately 120 pounds of molten salt) used as a coolant. Temperature is regulated with an accurate digital thermostat, while pump speed and flow are controlled through a Variable Frequency Drive.
Systems are available with 13,800 Watts of power at 240V single or three-phase, along with custom molten salt loop test systems and deep immersion pumps featuring 144-inch immersion depth, 3-inch NPT discharge piping, durable 316 stainless steel construction, and 5-HP air motors capable of pumping 180 GPM at 15 ft. head.
